The Ellijay Lions Club, the Gilmer County Chamber of Commerce, the cities of Ellijay and East Ellijay, and Gilmer County invite everyone to come and enjoy the 43rd year of the Georgia Apple Festival. There are over 300 vendors with handmade, hand-crafted items, as well as many on-site demonstrations of how selected types of crafts are made. The antique car show is held at the Civic Center. The "Apple Pickin' Jubilee" held at Hillcrest Orchards near Ellijay, Ga. is a fun filled on the farm festival featuring U-Pick apples, cow milking, pig races, mule and tractor draw wagon rides, playgrounds with giant slides, pedal cart and trike rides, and a Farmhouse and Moonshine Museum. Visitors love the most unique petting farm in North Ga. where children can hug ad feed lots of baby farm animals including goats, lambs, a calf, kittens and even just hatched baby chicks.
